The 808 Scene Zine is printed professionally at Trade Publishing in Honolulu. It is a 1/2 letter sized publication - the feel of a zine with polish. The Zine was started three years ago by Katie Whitman in February of 2006. Our staff has grown to 15 regular volunteer writers, photographers, graphic designers, and distributors. Our brand new co-editor, Chris Cook, has a degree in Journalism from Humboldt University in California. DISTRIBUTION & DEMOGRAPHIC:

Testimonials: Black Cat Tattoo reports that they gained at least two clients from only one month of advertising in The 808 Scene Zine. The clients picked up the Zine at Black Flys in the International Marketplace in Waikiki and checked out Black Cat in Chinatown because of the ad and tattoo gallery in our publication.The alternative and goth clothing and goods store, Millennium, in Aloha Tower has been advertising in the Zine for about 4 months. They report that customers have been returning these coupons, even as quickly as after the first month.
