The December article is always hard to write because nothing pops off till Black Friday and the deadline for the zine is way before that. Well let’s get things rolling then. Check www.atypicalliving.com for your daily info. November seems to be extremely short yet it contains the normal 30 days. Everyone seems to be having a Black Friday sale EVERY SATURDAY for November? Well not to worry because it only means two things: 1.savings for everyone and 2.new products to restock the shelves emptied by the sales. Kicks/Hi released new shirts and STA five panel hats (remember when Kicks had the longest Black Friday line. Glad they still have dope sales on different days instead!) In4mation has everyone covered from head to toe with their holiday line of t-shirts, sweaters, hats, and hoodies. Fitted continues with the dope New Eras and shirts to match including their “Mabuhay Served Daily” shirt to benefit typhoon victims in the PI! Olde Ivory’s new line includes a sick Ala Wai Rats shirt that is super dope! The Lightsleepers holiday line includes the “Don’t Sleep” shirt and a tribute to Freestyle Fellowship. Split Obsession had two art shows featuring Martin Hsu (pic below) and Jamie Fales. Congrats to Chris I for winning the Beatroot 2009 qualifier #5(#6 in January). By press time Culture Shock featuring Pancho, CkaweekS, and Newkon will take place at Prototype. And Wormwood 2009 featuring 2Mex, Xololanxinxo, Life Rexall, BleuBird, Thesis Sahib, and a bunch of Hawaii emcees will have said aloha to Anna Bananas. Coming up on December 11 is Deck The Halls: a skateboard show @ Manifest featuring over 30 artists to benefit Kenny Brimer pay for medical bills as he kicks leukemia’s ass! Donations at the door and sales of the decks will be given to Kenny (he needs to raise $30,000! Help a homie!). So come support and have a good time.
