Happy New Year! December has finally come and gone. We celebrated the birth of Baby Jesus and set off so many fireworks that Mufi and the Fire Department want to ban fireworks all together! BOOO! They just mad that people still smuggling illegal aerials right under their noses. Then again once BJ Penn or Manny Paquiao won it felt like New Years Eve. THE EDDIE WENT! Super dope! Next time I’m going up North and fighting traffic. Well December was packed with people shopping for the perfect gifts. Black Friday kinda lost its sizzle when retailers trying to make every Friday in December a Black Friday sale. Good for consumers I guess. The Hawaii fresh makers still produced dope products. Kicks/Hi released new shirts for their Orange Label line. In4mation dropped some Starter snapbacks and New Eras as well as an In4/Vans Chukka Low. Fumanchu released their holiday line of shirts. And Fitted restocked their shelves emptied on Black Friday with tons of shirts, new eras like their Kamehamehas and Mua hats, a colab shirt/hat pack with Black Scale, as well as the Kaholo show with Element. Hawaii artist flexed their muscles as well this December. The guys at Contrast Mag and Hurley held their Anti Canvas show with artists designing one of a kind surf shorts that were auctioned to help the Junior Lifeguards as well as the Samoa Relief Fund. And finally I have to say a huge mahalo to everyone that helped make the Lightsleeper’s Deck The Halls event dope. The artist customized skateboard decks that were sold to help Kenny Brimer fight leukemia. Over $1500 was raised for Kenny’s medical bills, but donations are still being collected at http://www.solitaryarts.com/blogs/whats-new. Kenny needs $30k for medical bills, so support the homie. Thanks again to the Deck the Halls sponsers APB, FITTED, In4mation, Contrast, RedBull, and Manifest. That’s all for now. I know I was slacking. I’ll make it up. Promise! See you in February! Happy 2010! With love, Lofa.
